BATTLEFIELD V

MY ROLE

DICE, EA in Stockholm, Sweden

I worked on Battlefield V as a UX Design Consultant for the period of Spring 2018 to Autumn 2018. The game was released in November 2018.

I joined the team at a hectic time, 6 months before release, and offered UX support to the large studio team.

UX SUPPORT

With only 6 months until the game release, I helped the team where they needed it the most at the time.

Giving UX support to complete the story missions, give from feedback, and working on several of the different game modes in progress.

STORY

UX DESIGN & FEEDBACK

Offering UX design guidance and feedback across the Story missions in Battlefield V about icon and UI communication, Objective Marker design, level design clarity, difficulty levels, and bug reporting.

The design & art pillars for the Story mode was minimalism so that was my UX focus too.

CO-OP MISSIONS

PVE GAME MODE

My core focus and time was on designing a new type of game mode where players banded together with other players in a team of 4 to complete special operation missions in PvE missions, where players needed to seek out and complete randomised objectives.

This was a new PvE game mode to Battlefield to engage players in new ways in the Battlefield IP.

FIRE STORM

BATTLEROYAL

I helped out with UX feedback to the team developing the new Battlefield V Battleroyal mode: Fire Storm, offering feedback in studio-wide playtests and UX-specific insights.

PRACTICE RANGE

SANDBOX PRACTICE AREA

I helped out with the UX for the Practice/Tutorial level where players could practice shooting on fun targets, tank driving, and flying a variety of vehicles.
